Streamline your Lightroom editing in a snap.
Quality editing is nearly as important as how you photograph a scene. The trick to editing? Presets. These handy shortcuts allow you to quickly apply the same edits to your photos giving them a consistent look and feel.
This is the foundational Lightroom preset that I use EVERY time. I call it The Pictoralist because like the photographers associated with that movement this preset with one click instantly elevates the beauty, tonality, and composition of a photo. It gives me a solid foundation to dial-in the rest of my edits.
Its a solid one-size-fits-all kinda preset, but don't let that stop you from adding your own adjustments!
A few notes on presets...
Lightroom presets are rarely a 'one and done.' Each photograph is unique and, as such, the editing process must take this into consideration. What works for one photo isn't guaranteed to work for every photo. Experiment with the intensity of each Lightroom adjustment to make it your own. Start by evaluating and adjusting the following to calibrate the preset to fit your photo:
- White balance
- Exposure
- Clarity/dehaze
- Saturation/vibrance
